Festival
1-The movies from Final Fantasy X will be made completely three-dimensional,
disposed of the “pre-rendered backgrounds” of the previous three Final Fantasies
for a “polygon-based world” accessible from any perspective. FFX will still use
Square's trademark rendered FMV sequences to illustrate key events that will
feature Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.
For the first time ever in Final Fantasy history, Final Fantasy X will include
voice acting, which has been a major dispute over Final Fantasy fans. Akira
Ishida (who played the voice of Kaworu in Neon Genesis Evangelion and Alex in
Lunar Star Story) will provide the voice of the main character and hero Tidus.
2-Details of the storyline of FFX are still limited. Assumptions and other
footage suggest a “post-apocalyptic scenario.”-One thousand years after "A great
terror arose from the deep", and the world is nearly submerged in water. Now, in
the present, a "Journey home" across the seas begins, with the heroes apparently
bound for "The kingdom of the sun".
3-The main characters of Final Fantasy X have been revealed. Tidus is
the sword-carrying hero; with brown hair, and overalls with a blitzball symbol.
His love interest is the kimono-clothed staff-wielding heroine, Yuna.
According to footage shown at the Jump Festival, Yuna is a water goddess
destined to battle Ifrit, a fire god. The final exposed character is Ryuga,
Tidus's mysterious rival. It is not yet known whether he will be a playable
character. Other two new announced characters are Kitt and Hayate.
4-Gameplay details are extremely scarce. Footage of the status screen indicates
that the party will be constrained to three characters at a time during battle.
The status screen also shows each character possessing MP, so far the only piece
of information regarding FF X's new magic system.
5-Final Fantasy X marks a return to the "modern fantasy" like in FFVIII.
Character designer Tetsuya Nomura has returned to lend his more realistic style
to the game's characters.
