:: Battle System :: |
* Battle System:
In FFX, the battle system cab be considered one of the most flexible system up to date. With the
elimination of FF's traditional ATB gauge system (Active Time Battle), comes a more primitive
Turn System, which means, actions during battle go by a turn by turn basis.
As for flexibility, meaning what a player has when encountering a battle, can be changed during
the battle. Eg. like character's equipment can be changed during battles!
* Battle Screen Explaination :-
Help Window :
Command Window :
CTB Window :
Character Stats :
|
Usually shows only the name of the enemy, but if any of the player's characters have the
special ability to see enemy stats, the window will also display enemy's element base as
well as their turn movements etc etc.
Directional buttons Up & Down chooses basic commands like Attack, Ability and Magic. Where
as Right gives you the options of changing equipment or escape battle, and Left gives the
Overdrive command.
If the player doesn't wish to wait for turns to choose actions, one can straight away
pre-key in up to 16 commands, letting the battle go on auto.
Shows character's HP & MP, as well as their Overdrive gauge. When full, characters can
excute their powerful Overdrive skills.
|
* Turn Customizing:
Another flexible feature of the game is that even if the player has already pre-keyed in 16
commands, one can still adjust/change them as well as when you want the command to be
executed, that is, still by turns of course.
Other than adjusting commands, even the characters are changeable. Yes, during battles,
by pressing the L1 button. Enabling another character to take over for a more
effective/strategic battle or when one of the characters has fallen.
* Battle Commands:
Attack :
Ability :
Item :
|
Normal attack or basic attack
Uses the special abilities learned
Uses available items in inventory
|
* Help Commands:
By pressing directional button Right in the command window, 3 more options will appear.
Weapon Change :
Defend Item Change :
Escape :
|
Change character's weapon
Change character's defense equipment
This time, the escape command only allows the character the player has used the command
on to run away. So, in order to retreat fully, the player has to escape the characters
one by one.
|
* Personal Commands:
Other than the common commands above, some characters have their own unique commands.
